4.6x30mm HK Ammo

The 4.6x30mm HK is a small-caliber, high-velocity cartridge developed by the German firearms manufacturer Heckler & Koch (HK). It was designed in the early 1990s as a response to a need for a compact, high-performance cartridge for use in submachine guns and personal defense weapons.

The 4.6x30mm HK cartridge fires a small, lightweight bullet weighing around 2 to 3 grams (31 to 46 grains) at high velocities, typically around 1,400 to 1,600 feet per second (fps). It is capable of producing muzzle energies of up to 500 foot-pounds (ft-lbs), which is relatively high for such a small cartridge.

The 4.6x30mm HK cartridge is primarily used in the HK MP7 submachine gun and the HK P46 personal defense weapon. These firearms were designed specifically to take advantage of the small size and high velocity of the cartridge, making them compact and highly effective weapons for close-quarters combat.

While the 4.6x30mm HK cartridge is not commonly used outside of military and law enforcement circles, it is a highly effective cartridge for its intended purposes and is well-regarded for its accuracy and penetration capabilities.
